How to Build a Work Table

Step 1: Frame

Construct a top and bottom frame out of 2x4s, then cut 4×4 posts to a desired height. To assemble the table, attach the posts to the inside corners of the top frame. To make the bottom shelf sturdy, install 2×4 blocks and attach the remaining frame on top, followed by a piece of plywood cut to size.

Step 2: Pop-Up Table

To construct the pop-up table, first cut a base out of plywood and attach it to the inside back with hinges, then attach brackets for the supports to rest on. After the saw is bolted onto the pop-up table, it’s on to the cutout for the top of the worktable. After the plywood top is cut to size, the easiest way to make a square

Step 3: Finishing

Once the top is attached, all that’s left are the finishing details: a quick sanding, another pop-up table on the side, an air compressor hookup for quick cleanups and casters to make it mobile.
